It is my belief that in order to live happily, a healthy relationship towards food is as crucial as the air we breathe.
As we age our personal life and bodies are in constant change: there are many events that may lead us to neglect our health and well being, resulting in a negative view of our physical and spiritual self.
Often our response is to try a fad diet to quickly lose weight, thinking it will increase our self esteem or binge to comfort ourselves in a time of stress, resulting in weight increases while depleting our self image. This vicious cycle can never be successful.
It is critical to remove the negative feelings towards your body and food so that you can start to succeed in managing your weight or nutrition related health issues. Taking steps towards this new outlook may take longer than fad dieting but the rewards will be more permanent and substantial.
My interest in nutrition has come from my own personal life issues and struggles with weight and body image. I turned my negative issues into a positive by finding a passion for cooking, sharing food and discussing healthy eating with friends and family.
Just know that there is no such thing as a perfect diet, a bad day or two is expected. Maintain a positive attitude and keep moving forward towards your personal nutrition, health and well being goals.
